Training Information

Offered By Riverbend Integrative Trauma Treatment

Who would benefit from this training? ASWs, LCSWs, LPCs, Residents in Counseling, anyone wishing to broaden their knowledgebase with parts work.

 

Refund Policy for Trainings: All requests received in writing via ground mail or emailed to camilla@riverbendcounseling.net at least two weeks (14 days) prior to the date of the start of the workshop/series will receive a refund, less a 15% administrative fee & applicable credit card/merchant fees which are typically non-refundable. Requests made 13 to six days prior to the start of the workshop/series will receive a refund less 30%. Requests received 5 days or less prior to the first day of the workshops/series will result in a forfeiture of the attendee's investment. There are no full or partial refunds once a workshop series begins. Please note that this policy applies to all circumstances causing a registrant not to attend a workshop including, but not limited to late arrival, sickness, family/personal emergencies, traffic problems, car problems, getting lost, work concerns, et cetera. Registrations are non-transferable and must be used for the original date and time.

CE Issuance Policy: In order to receive CE credit, you must pay a registration fee, sign in/out, arrive on time (in the morning and from breaks), stay for the entire workshop, complete and submit a training evaluation. Once these steps are completed, you will be issued a CE Certificate. Per Board regulations, we are unable to issue partial credit. Thus, an attendee arriving after the start of a session (mornings or at break) will not be issued CE credit or a refund for the session.

CE Re-Issuance: Requests for CE Certificates to be re-issued for any reason will result in a $15 administrative fee. This include duplicates, lost items, or failure to pick-up your certificate at the end of the session.

About the Trainer

Thistle Newcomb, LPC

​

 

Thistle Newcomb has been working with families in the mental health field since 1996 and has specifically focused on children, adolescents, and families.   She has extensive experience in settings including residential crisis shelter, domestic foster care/adoption social services, intensive in-home counseling, outpatient private practice, supervision of LPC Residents, and a trainer/presenter to the community.  Thistle is trained in several modalities such as EMDR (Consultant), Internal Family Systems, Somatic Interventions, and is well versed in Complex Developmental Trauma for clients aged infants to grandparents.  Specific interests include emotional regulation, resolving trauma, grief/loss, family dynamics, the impact of trauma on developing brains, and stress reduction.  Thistle is a Licensed Professional Counselor, an EMDR Approved Consultant, and has been certified as an Expert Witness in Trauma in the 16th District Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court system in Virginia.  She has conducted multiple trainings on a variety of trauma treatment focused topics for audiences ranging from beginners to advanced.

In addition to being a founding partner of Three Rivers Adoption Support, she is a founding partner of Riverbend Counseling Group, a Trainer and LPC Resident Supervisor at Riverbend Integrative Trauma Treatment, and an LPC Resident Supervisor at Counseling Alliance of Virginia.

Parts, Parts, Parts?! has been approved by NBCC for NBCC credit. Riverbend Integrative Trauma Treatment is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. NBCC Approval No. SP-3823.

For LCSW, ASW, MFT and LEPs

For these professionals, we are able to offer 9 CEs for completion of module one, or 22.5 CEs for the successful completion of both modules including the consult groups. 

For Professional Counselors

For professional counselors, we are able to offer 18 CEs for completing both modules of the training. While professional counselors are encouraged to participate in the consult groups, they will not receive CEs for doing so.
