Miranda has a rare warmth and a kind sense of humor. She cares deeply about her clients -- their circumstances, histories, perspectives, and experiences -- and encourages them to be the experts of their lives, seeing their strengths as well as their challenges. Miranda is passionate about using the therapeutic relationship and individually-tailored, evidence-based interventions to help ease her clients' suffering and increase their senses of joy, clarity, strength, connection, and purpose. Miranda worked as a group facilitator at The Center for Grieving Children. For five years, she served as the Director of Next Step, an inclusive college and career counseling company for low-income teens and families. From 2021-2023, she provided mental health supports at Rappahannock County Public Schools. She is active in her community, chairing the Board of a Child Care and Learning Center, serving on a substance use disorder committee, and running an LLC for affordable housing. For the last ten years, she has taught thousands of trauma-informed yoga classes in schools, in the locked-down psychiatric ward of the Veterans Administration Hospital, and at the RSW Regional Jail.Â
