Riverbend Counseling Group, or RCG, started in 2011 as an association of outpatient psychotherapists who chose to work our private practices in a collaborative and supportive setting.  While sharing resources, each therapist has their own business entities and client management systems.  We are a highly experienced, skilled, and caring group of individuals.

Riverbend Integrative Trauma Treatment, or RITT, was developed in 2019 as a separate but connected company to increase the capacity for offering therapeutic services to the community and to train new trauma therapists.  Many of the RCG clinicians are supervisors and/or trainers at RITT while maintaining their private practices.  RITT offers an outpatient therapy clinic which employs these licensed and talented Supervisors, licensed Staff and license-eligible Fellows in our Charlottesville, Richmond, and Culpeper locations.

Currently, only RITT Staff and RITT Fellows are accepting new clients when the referral forms are open.

RITT and RCG affirm our commitment to recognizing, addressing, and eradicating all forms of oppression. We recognize that racism, bigotry, and oppression affect the lives of many.  Our therapists provide a safe space to explore personal experiences with injustices.  We welcome all people and commit to advocacy that challenges oppressive and unjust forces. We are united in the pursuit to end racial and ethnic bias and discrimination due to gender and bigotry against the LGBTQIA+ community.

We believe diversity strengthens us all.

RITT and Riverbend Counseling do not discriminate in their programs, services, or member selection on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, age, religion or religious creed, disability or handicap, sex or gender, gender identity and/or expression, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state or local law
