Additional Offerings
Nervous System Settling/Vagus
RITT offers Vagus nervous system regulation therapy to help integrate trauma by releasing residual distress or blocks uncovered in psychotherapy sessions to restore balance to the whole system.

These are gentle non-invasive, hands-on sessions for the whole body. Performed on a massage table, the client is fully clothed, and the practitioner touch is light and still. The session focus is to support the inherent health of the whole being, especially the nervous system
Sessions can last anywhere from a half hour to an hour or an hour and a half depending on the therapist you are working with and your needs. During that time, the therapist will quietly, gently hold parts of your body, listening to the subtle rhythms and tracking changes in your system.
The Vagus nervous system settling work supports the Triune Polyvagal Nervous System in noticing and releasing fight, flight and freeze patterns wired into body memory. Gentle touch facilitates co-regulation by connecting and repairing the social nervous system. This supports healing, accurate perception and development of healthy boundaries.

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a whole body, hands-on healing modality that identifies restrictions in the body that block access to our system's natural ability to heal and find balance. These patterns of restriction may be physical and/or emotional, and can affect how we function in our day to day lives. CST detects and corrects imbalances in the membranes and fluids that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord, and offers release from the tension in the connective tissues throughout the body. The work involves the practitioner "listening through their hands" to the body's subtle rhythms and any patterns of inertia, shock and/or trauma.

Physically, CST influences the central nervous system which includes the brain and spinal column, as well as the fluid that bathes it. This fluid is called the cerebral spinal fluid (CSF), and it creates an ebbing and flowing (craniosacral rhythms) that is palpable under skilled hands. When there is congestion in the fluid's movement, practitioners can work to restore potency to the system. This cranial modality is effective, yet very gentle.

Emotionally, biodynamic craniosacral therapy can affect deep and primary patterns, while providing the client with resource and space to explore their emotional landscape. CST provides a deep sense of resourcing within the client. This resourcing provides a safe container for emotional issues to resolve.

Craniosacral therapy is suitable for people of all ages including babies, children and the elderly, and can be effective in acute or chronic cases. Clients are fully clothed and resting on a massage table for the session, and there is no direct force used to bring about change.
