Maya (she/her), MSW recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she focused on direct practice. A Charlottesville native, Maya has worked with individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds, including community members experiencing homelessness, neurodivergent individuals, and adults with long-term and persistent mental health conditions. She is an LGBTQ+ friendly and culturally competent practitioner. Maya is aware of how clients’ intersecting identities can shape their behavior and thought patterns, which informs her use of person-first and strength-based approaches in her work with clients. Maya is passionate about creating an environment where her clients feel heard, respected, and safe to share their experiences. She is conversational in Spanish. In her free time, Maya enjoys spending time outside (preferably with her dog), taking pilates classes, and enjoying all the great food here in Charlottesville.
